I will never understand the pain and suffering that the Black
community is feeling right now and has felt for hundreds of years.
But I do believe that Black Lives Matter and I won’t stay
silent.
I’ve been looking within, listening and taking action.
To my Black friends and friends of color: I’m here for you. I will
continue to check myself & educate myself, and do the work to check
those around me. I won’t stop. Your pain matters, your voice
matters, your life matters.
This isn’t an empty promise. I’m taking the hours I spend
mindlessly on social media and using that time this week to educate
myself, listen to the teachings of those in the Black community,
and take action both locally and through the donations I’ll make to
organizations all over the country.
Change starts within each of us. It starts with taking steps. With
putting action behind our words. I will take action. I will
support. I will fight for the Black community.
